You know what I think would have taken balls? For this kid to tell someone he had fallen down a wormhole of hatred and that he was considering mass violence against innocent people who had done him no wrong.

To sit there and say that giving in to that hatred and carrying out such violence makes this asshole “not a pussy,” while not an explicit statement of admiration, is certainly implied. And to me, it’s straight-up sick and disturbing that someone would feel that way, much less express it out loud.

This. Statistics say the mentally ill are more likely to be the victims of these acts than the shooters.

Now I will say, I strongly beleive that mental illnesses are hugely, bigly under-reported/under diagnosed/under treated. Improvements in what we reimburse physicians of mental illness and improvements in access would be worth everyone's while, but alas. Let's just give more people more guns and keep them scared of things.
