But I also make enough money to either cover any daycare costs or (as we do) to have my wife be a stay at home. And according to Trump's plan, I would qualify for a larger tax exemption if I send my kids to daycare than my brother, who makes $41,000 and for whom daycare is an absolute necessity, since he and his wife can't afford to drop one of their 2 incomes.

Congrats on your material success, but I don't see what the issue is. I am willing to admit I might not be aware of the entirety of his plan, but I thought he wanted to remove the cap on Dependent Care Spending Accounts, which is currently only $5k (a mere 7 weeks of child care expenses for two kids), effecting both child and elderly care costs. This seems like a gift from god to single parents or lower income workers on the edges of neighborhoods like yours.
