I mean, we kinda know there will be because of that picture Rian tweeted/shared. But that's my point. IF there is no crawl... what will fans do? How fucking apeshit will they go? On the other hand, if the movie picks up immediately where TFA left off, will fans hate the crawl? The same that are saying R1 desperately needed a crawl might be really upset when a similar thing happens in TLJ and we find the crawl unnecessary and gratuitous. There are so many ways this could go!
Probably, no one will give a shit and I'll be let down by the lack of discussion/controversy either way.
oh I assure you, I will give an enormous shit
Hypothetically, if this is not only the best Star Wars film to date, but let's say the single greatest science fiction film of all time... would no crawl ruin it for you?
of course not, but it no doubt would have been even BETTER with the crawl.
Shit, I have a problem with the 20th century fox fanfare being absent. It was jarring as hell the first time I saw TFA
This is so fascinating to me. This was not my experience.
I'm pretty sure we spent pages just on this when TFA came out.
I felt weird and bewildered with no fox fanfare first time I saw it too.
I even played it on my headphones in the cinema on my third or fourth viewing

That's some real commitment to nostalgia there, friend. Kudos on the dedication.

Best thing about having the OT originals on DVD. You just do that and it's there.
And to think for about 3 years we all thought we'd see the Disney castle logo at the start
Shudder to think

It could be fun if they did the Disney Castle Logo but replaced the castle with the Jedi Temple on Coruscant or something like that.

The aspect ratio disaster going on here is the most monstrous thing Trump has done in office

aw huh
He's 98% of the reason why I want to see the "original" version of the film. Apparently, he played a much larger role.

It's actually distracting me that I'm only watching this in 1080p

Should it not be that a great film is great no matter what format or quality you see it in?

Of course. It's not about the movie being good or bad.

Jesus the imagery in this is surreal. Masterful pop art.

Vader pulling the guy to the ceiling. Grabbing a blaster bolt in an upright first then backslashibg the guy on the ceiling and releasing the bolt back the Rebels is the best shot ever in all Star Wars.

I don't think Gareth Edwards could make a bad image if he tried.

This movie is staggeringly gorgeous from beginning to end. The destruction of Jedha is stunning.
