Right, the conclusion of the 9 movie saga will be based on the main plot of a much maligned video game.
I liked Battlefront 2.

It’s not from Battlefront 2, it was expanded upon just a little bit in the game. And no one said the rest of your statement, that the movie in any way will be built upon the game.

This is canon from the Disney era, and not something they plan to disregard, rather something they have done in tandem with the movies.

You can love the movies or hate the movies, but you can always just watch the movies, and be entertained that way. If you want everything explained and logical, the additional canon helps. Like between ep 2 and 3, or from Rogue One to Star Wars (ep. 4). It all adds to the story. Of course you can see ep 4 without ever seeing or hearing about R1. That’s how it all started after all.

Yeah, I feel like retconning has always been such a huge part of the fabric of Star Wars. Taking an issue with Palpatine being back (in a still unknown form/amount) on that basis seems really weird to me.

That's my only exposure to it and I feel like I'm a pretty big SW fan.

Oh, of course.

I've said this before, but it seems like a hamfisted way to connect the OT to this trilogy. I thought this one was about the new characters.

It’s a nine movie story (plus additional canon). It has to fit together somehow, not just be something completely new. It will still mostly be about the new characters. Everyone else is dead.

I'm really looking forward to the inevitable Rey versus Kylo lightsaber duel. The trilogy has been building up to it. I love how they have not really faced one another before. In Force Awakens Kylo is injured and Rey is very inexperienced. They fought together in TLJ.
So, please no force ghosts. Just make it a one on one fight.

Yes. And keep out the high flying acrobatics. I want emotion.

I love you guys. (Although, I don’t mind the acrobatics.)

If there is a device called the wayfinder really in this movie. Then I can say with confidence, I will not be happy with this film.

They need something to propel the plot. MacGuffins galore!

Just saw this theory that I'd never seen before:
- Spoiler: show
- Rey could be a clone of Luke using his chopped off hand. Which is kinda interesting. I mean, the lightsaber somehow showed back up. Stands to reason whoever found the lightsaber found the hand, too.

Who picks up a severed hand and thinks ‘Yanno. I might clone this’.
Bit of a reach.
