yeah, they were pretty cool. I like who they chose too. And every EPK from St to LB were really good too, i would have love for something like that for this album.

I think I'm comforted by half-assed promotion because for too long it's been cool promotion, disappointing album; I'd like to think we're getting the opposite here: we're just fucking about waiting for this one because it's actually good; I'm actually grateful to this promotion that it's not setting up any false hope

yeah i can see that

It actually made me focus a lot on Dark Matter as a single, it also helped that the song has many layers to focus on.

There has to be a new clip coming tonight or tomorrow on that thing right?

If not, that’s an insanely pathetic use of a social media post.

The most effective promotion of this record came last year, starting with Stone’s interviews, then Ed’s comment in Austin, and finally Mike’s interviews in the fall.

Sure Stone and Jeff have given solid interviews recently, but honestly everything the band’s management has done promotion wise has been….a complete head scratcher. Just horribly incoherent.

Isn’t their current manager a former roadie on their crew?

Take a step back and ask yourself:

When I remove my bias about the production, do I really think these songs “sound like shit”?

If your answer is yes, your in what I would say is a di minimus minority.

Perhaps my ideas have not found great acceptance in this, the supposed people’s forum. But rest assured that YouTube is with me. By god sir, all of YouTube is with me.

And don't forget the ticket prices...

Their second show in Barcelona is at half capacity at the most, and the first is way far from selling out.

Yes. They sound incredibly tired and boring to me. Either the "bridge" in Running, or brief moments of tremolo guitar in DM, are the most compelling part. That's not saying much.

And I'd argue "di minimus" based on RM, and probably the Porch. Definitely not on Reddit.

And still...

Good songs with shitty production > Shitty songs with impeccable production.
