I don't see how this relates. It's not used often because players/coaches aren't stupid so it almost never works.

I don't see a problem with that either. HIs job is to get a hit. What's wrong with the fact that he's changing his approach that hasn't been working?

David Price's ERA went up to 3.28 after last night. Seeing the massive jumps in average and ERA is one of the funniest things about the first few weeks of the season.

Yeah, it was a .4 before that game started.

It's especially funny when you consider all the early season, small sample reactions from fans an media. A player hits .350 in the first couple weeks and everyone starts talking him up and articles are coming out about how the changes he's made are really paying off. A week later, he's gone 1-for-20 and he's back to his career norms and everyone ignores him.

Having said that, I'm pretty confident that Devon Travis will maintain his 1.148 OPS through the rest of the season.

Agreed. Nick Martinez will probably win the Cy Young with 22 wins and an ERA well under 1.
