Presenting Replacement Theory and its hold on modern conservatives as a natural consequence of a Democratic Party subculture is absurd. Was the Christchurch shooter radicalized by the Democratic Party when he called his manifesto The Great Replacement? Was Anders Behring Breivik radicalized by American immigration policy when he murdered 77 people in Norway while invoking the theory in 2011? Is American immigration policy the reason that England saw a record number of racial hate crimes last year?

Replacement Theory festers in any majority-white country, and especially in affluent ones. It's been around for decades...arguably more than a century. What is new is the direct adoption of it by one of the premier political parties of the United States.

The Republican Party is moving CPAC to Europe this year specifically so that this person can be the guest speaker:

It is the attribution of intentional cultural genocide to your political opponents, and believing in it requires (as a bedrock!) that people who come to America from other countries are mindlessly obedient Democrat voters. They are not independent thinkers. They do not make decisions for themselves. If the Democrats can get them here, they own them, and they're willing to do exactly that for the purpose of unravelling American democracy. That is a conspiracy theory. That is not "white identity politics."

And no amount of immigration reform will change the fact that America is becoming more diverse. You cannot protect the racially insecure from change. You have to change the racially insecure, and you can't do that until you admit that they and they alone are their problem.
