The mandalorian is exploring the origins of the first order. Babies being taken from their families to be grown into stormtroopers (hey Finn!)

Rey is more than likely one of those kids were stolen from her parents and somehow was stolen to safety or sold by zori bliss. It’s her ship in the trailer.

It is strange it hasn’t been explained how it was found. Tfa was to open with his saber floating through space(somehow?) and they dropped the idea.

But he was unknown at that stage. So it would have been an antique Jedi weapon to anyone finding it. How maz comes to know it’s his is anyone’s guess
