I hate any kind of alchoholic-beverage-flavored sauce or food. Jack Daniels sauce, whiskey/bourbon BBQ sauce, rum-flavored desserts, all of it. They're all terrible.

I generally agree with this, and the bourbon stuff is usually a marketing gimmick. There have been a few exceptions but those have been things I made myself.

if you mix it at home, it's better, but yeah, the store stuff is pretty much just high fructose corn syrup, and not very good.

a splash of bourbon in some south carolina style bbq sauce is pretty good. if you want to try, basically just get some french's yellow mustard, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, salt, black pepper, ground cayenne pepper, onion power, garlic powder, and like a shot of bourbon. mix it, slather it on some chicken, and grill.
