The Bryan Adams verses and Michael Mcdonald keys keep preventing me from finding a way in. Some nice poetry...I'm resolute, it's just not happening yet.
Lol at the out there bryan adams comparison and i dont even know who micheal mcdonald is. Is that Ronald's brother?
If you were here with me, I'd roll over your face with my motorized chair for that

Are you honestly categorizing that as a joke?

I think of it as similar to some of the best sounds on Division Bell and it feels real nice.

Not really. 'A successful attempt at being lame' will do. Being lame is really fun. Lame, is total freedom. Let's be lame together. Lame, I'm gonna live forever! I'm gonna learn how to fly. LAME!

I made a similar comment earlier (or elsewhere...who knows?) Definitely picking up threads of "post-Waters" Floyd, as well.
Dunno, think it's a production issue for me, yet again :(

The end product is fine, I like it, well enough. There's a certain sheen on the guitar that I just can't get beyond (yet). It just feels very middle-of-the-road, adult contemporary, and the tonal selection for the keys doesn't do anything to alleviate that feeling for me. That's where Bryan Adams popped into my head. I do hear whispers of the band who wrote Wishlist in there, clearly, but, the guitars have this late Eighties, Lite-FM production on them that I can't shake. Reminds me of when I was in high school. I'd go to visit my girlfriend, and her Mother would be playing some middle-aged schlock that sounded "nice." It is a very "nice" song.

I enjoy the second half, so, hope springs eternal!

Nice Bugs mash-up...We should market that...record a 7" in Jack White's Voice-O-Graph booth!
Wonderful poetry in the song. All of my current issues with the song revolve around production & tonal choices.

Huge fan of the first half. Ed is soooo good here, and i love what the band is doing. Its such a weird mix between a mid tempo song and something more experimental.

Again the lyrics.... :heartbeat:

I love the His best days gone....part. Reminds me of the character of Soon Forget.

I don't know why they chose keyboards instead of guitar for the chorus and if my 16 year old self knew what my 41 year old self was about to say he'd be embarrassed, but......I don't think they could have recorded it any other way. This song is perfect. After a few failed attempts (ATW, Unthought Known, Force of Nature, etc.) they really put it all together.

I'm just catching glimpses of lyrics at this point, but they all feel so right.

Obviously the production on this album is superb, but I think 7:00 really benefits the best of all from it. Such a rich background.

Off He Goes
Pilate
Parachutes
I Am Mine
7:00
Whipping
WMA
Thin Air
Jeremy
Infallible
Amongst The Waves

This list was harder than some others. I'm really only sure that the last 2 belong where they are.
