I bet it is and it won't make a bit difference... I mean it's a career-ender and likely permanently damaging to his relationships with his children.*
Yeah, looking back on this post, I probably underestimated how difficult it would be for someone to make a statement like that, especially someone like kids. But at least if you get out ahead of the story, you can teach your children that you should take responsibility and apologize for your actions, at least you can tell them, "It was hard for me to do this, but it's even harder for the people I've hurt." Anything from this point out is going to look like damage control.
As if on cue:

If there is no redemption, we are done as a society. But honestly, I don’t disagree with anything platy said there. He’s kinda entirely right.

I disagree with this. There are too many talented people toiling in obscurity who never get their big break. Any one who has the good fortune to find major success in the arts has a moral obligation to carry themselves with some semblance of gratitude and composure, otherwise step aside for the thousands of other talented no-names who would love a shot at the limelight.

“If they believe this man is predatory, they are guilty of allowing him to exist for 40 years. I think someone should prosecute and go after them. You can’t be a victim 40 years later, in my opinion,” Henry said.
Did trag write that?

For me, it goes back to what plat posted a couple weeks ago: enjoying art and patrimony the arts as s consumer are not the same thing. And I love art, but I value social justice more. So I don't want to give my dollars to an abusive person.
I find it hard to come up with and abide by clear-cut rules about stuff like this

Fuck Louis CK

he did this while married, with a pregnant wife and a kid

obviously he has some kind of disorder, but it is waaaaay too soon for this guy to be getting the ‘everything’s back to normal!’ signal

his statement reads half like a denial and half like a justification, with a sentence or two clearly sprinkled in based on his lawyer’s advice

one of those women said when he called to apologize, he said he was sorry for ‘pushing her into the bathroom’ , which was not what happened to her and clearly is something he did to someone else

he is a psychopath

obviously you have to be crazy to do stand up comedy like that

but he has betrayed himself, his family, his colleagues, and his fans and the road to reconciliation is not a one-shot ‘neither confirm nor deny’ statement

i met him at a bar after his show in 2003. knowing that he was doing that shit while i looked up to him makes me feel disgusted.

you can do what you want in private that doesnt harm other people, but don’t go stand on stage with a microphone and talk about what is just and who is a hypocrite, etc. and then do pervy-power shit to innocent people like this

he is a fucking liar

burn him

Louis just lost his publicist. FX dropped him. His career as it has existed until now is over.

Roy Moore went after children, and members of his party are defending him.

Can someone sum up for me please?

If someone whose work I admire is revealed to have been sexually inappropriate up to rapist, I can no longer enjoy their work and must disown and reject them and their work?

Cos if that’s the the case we’re probably not allowed listen to any music at all from about 95 backwards
