Im down to my last bottle of Stone's RuinTen IPA..... Im sad

I went into my local bar saturday sat down and the bar tender tells me he knows what i want for my first two beers and to just trust him.
First one is a keg pour of 2011 Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti

It was pretty fantastic.

Then he brings out a Founders KBS bottle for me.

What a great beer day at the bar.

Had a Goose Island bourbon county stout today..couldnt handle more than a few sips of the stuff..actually scored 100 on beer advocate

What vintage? Fresh I found it way too hot though a few did help me get through Thanksgiving dinner with family. Still have one that I am letting sit for a while.

No but a couple times a year i get pliny the elder and blind pig from russian river and i've shared a couple with the bar tenders before.

so for shits and grins I have signed up to take the certified cicerone test...guess I have to start studying and trying styles I'm unfamiliar with

I've never cared for most Bocks/doppelbocks and a lot of Belgians...I know the styles by taste but really know nothing about them..

Finally tried Hoptimum, it's good, but man, it's freakin' strong. I had 2 Flying Dog Belgian Whites + 1 Hoptimum last night, and I had a solid buzz (it's 10.4%).

We have a lot of the same tastes. As far as serving beer though, I think as long as you qualify the customer as to what they like, it won't be hard to find a good pairing.

missed this earlier, sorry...No idea. It was on tap at my local and they poured me a sample..to me its the kind of thing that needs to be poured over ice cream or waffles
