Since I'm going down hard anyway, I almost threw this one in for fun. In the end, I just couldn't do it to Smokey, Elvis, or Miss Loretta.
It scores points for the title alone, "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict."

I'm leaving town until about Sunday. I asked Stip to vote for me, but to go with his opposite choice.

I don't know anyone who doesn't. It's literally one of the most agreeable music trends that ever was. You'd have to be a Heathen to resist its charms.
It is for sure the subset of muzak that is the most succesful at making people think they're listening to something really good.

These Boots Are Made For Walkin' is so much better than Piece of My Heart.
I almost picked Some Velvet Morning instead of Nights in White Satin. I really wanted to pick Pretty Ballerina by the Left Banke too. And Makin' Time by the Creation. And 7 & 7 Is by Love. And Do You Love Me? by The Contours. And You Can't Hurry Love by The Supremes. And like 64 others songs than went unpicked.

These are actually hard to compare. All of the lists have some great tunes. All of the lists have some tunes that are great, but I've heard one too many times. Bugs landed "Girl From the North Country," which I was thiiis close to choosing myself. What a great song. I prefer early Stones to the late-sixties stuff (which is probably "better" but has been played into the ground). In the end, stip's inclusion of "Suspicious Minds" wins my vote.
SNC vs. DCT was a tough match up. These were two very different lists. SNC had selections that are closer to my own tastes, with fewer songs you'd expect to hear on any classic rock radio station on any given day, including some deep cuts from Smokey Robinson and Bob Seger. I was especially fond of the Little Milton tune, which I had not heard before. DCT had some outstanding picks -- Creeque Alley, yes! Love me some Van Morrison and Nina Simone, too. Close to being a coin toss, but I've got to go with SNC.

Bugs
DcT
Bugs has a monster team. 8 of his 10 songs are songs I wanted to take or strongly considered taking. Space Oddity and Down by the River alone make his one of the best teams in this thing. Green River, Dear Prudence, Girl from the North Country, Sympathy for the Devil... Jesus. Amazing team.
I'm just not cool enough for SNC's team. Some great stuff. But I hadn't heard 80% of it until this tournament. I fully expect to lose since most of RM has much deeper tastes than my own. Especially in this decade. Like I said, I'm too square for this match up.
