They've never played that song live with Ben on vocals. The way they did it last night is identical to how they performed it in 1994.
I thought I recognised that jam at the end. Loved how it stopped on a dime.

I don't think he likes performing on camera, and he was probably sober. And yes, he's very punk rock. He's also my favorite member of Soundgarden.

btw, are we generally agreed that kim has been unable to match the studio solo for like suicide in a live setting? it's unusual for him, as he normally blows his studio solos out of the water when playing live, but that like suicide solo is just perfect.

Yes. He was really low in the mix last night too so it was hard to hear some of his solos at times. Chris was dead on all night, both vocals and guitar.

Chris' guitar was louder than Kim's for most of the performance.

As if it wasn't obvious enough that Matt Cameron picked the wrong band to take a sabbatical from, his replacement is a FORMER PEARL JAM DRUMMER.

I just don't understand this decision! Maybe it's just because I don't like Matt w/ PJ compared to Jack (which still feels recent) or Dave (which feels like a different band), but Matt plays way too heavy and fast for PJ's catalog and is irreplaceable with SG.
I would have loved for Jack to come back, but with his health/touring issues maybe it isn't possible and maybe PJ's catalog is too much for anyone to learn at this point, while SG can get away with playing the same 15-20 songs all tour.
and regarding Chamberlain, I dont see the fit, so until SG posts it, I'm still hoping for Freese or Wilk.

SG's currently playing the widest variety of songs live it ever has...closer to 50 than 15-20

Yeah, w/ Matt. I don't see them being able to do that with a new drummer, that was my point.

I can get down with this. Honorable mention goes to the tight ass, kick ass, bad ass version of Half.

While I read it properly, for some reason my brain did a switch-a-roo and translated it as Chamberlain playing in PJ (wishful thinking I guess, having Matt Cam tour with SG instead). But I agree with given2fly23, there are just too many PJ songs for a "new" drummer to learn.
While I love having Matt Cameron in PJ, it's blatantly obvious that SG is the best fit for him. I just don't see how the back and forth between the two bands will work out in the long run.

Pretty much every in the band (PJ) has been handling it for years, I'm sure Matt can as well.

Freese would be an awful fit and Wilk would be boring as batshit.
