Agreed. This quote below speaks volumes about how ho-hum and bland they perceive the whole process:
Blah blah blah...igotworms wrote:Stone:
"...everyone takes their demos that they’ve been working on for the last, whatever, two or three years, and shows up at the studio....and then those go and sit in the closet for six months. Everybody listens to them and goes “Oh, that’s my favorite.” “I don’t like that one.” “That one could be better.” “I wish I could re-do this one.” We have another studio session, and we either go back in and do some new stuff, or we re-do a couple of things, things, and pretty soon Brendan is like, “OK, let’s do it,” and...It’s a normal process."
In other words . Stone is saying:
"We don't really give much shit about the whole thing. We spread it out over many months and years, because we don't like it. But we know we have to do it, so we just take the most normal, easy approach we can think of. Then Brendan finishes everything so we don't have to"
We got the same basic response from Ed in one of the LB interviews when he talked about how glad he was to finally get all the lyrics written. It was like some work task that he had to get through to earn his paycheck.
