He helped Lucas Write empire and he co-wrote Jedi. So having him involved is probably to bring a more darker/adult tone. Apparently Michael Arndt wrote a shiny happy people holding hands stars wars movie.

It's too early to tell, of course...but when you've got zero information coming out about the project otherwise, a "look guyz iconic image" photoshare just plays into everything I assume about JJ Abrams.dimejinky99 wrote:Abrams has tweeted. First behind the scenes photo from the new Star Wars.

Yeah I knew about that stuff. That is a net positive. I just needed to know if the prequels negated thatlowlight79 wrote:dimejinky99 wrote:I dont think so no.

I'm reading on SW forums that Kasdan hasn't done anything remarkable in years. Bland rom coms etc.
I'd still argue he's the right man for the job on this.

There is a very good movie he made maybe 15 years ago? ...Mumford.dimejinky99 wrote:I'm reading on SW forums that Kasdan hasn't done anything remarkable in years. Bland rom coms etc.

It's not cynical as much as it's just anti-Abrams. No matter what. But I can forgive him because he's so goddamn funny and articulate. Re: Disney buys Lucasfilm. Episode VII coming in 2015.
I only have the "Kessel Run" brand George Lucas-flavored sex lubricants.
The thing about Matt that would give me hope is that the last season and a half of Doctor Who was the worst writing the show’s had since coming back seven years ago, and he saved a lot of really poorly constructed moments from being as bad as they deserved to be.
My figuring is, even if JJ screws up completely, it’d be nice to have actors who react to bad scripts by fighting back for a change, rather than just falling asleep onscreen…

Harrison Ford looks like an old lesbian there, by the way. And, even more surprisingly, that completely lifeless statue sort of resembles Samuel L. Jackson.
I remember reading a review of Revenge of the Sith that said you could almost start to empathize with Palpatine, because he’s the only character who seems to find any joy in what he’s doing. That makes me think of exactly what Matt brought to Doctor Who.
Then again, I would have been excited about Benedict Cumbersome, too, based solely on his BBC work…and JJ’s already proven that he can make him just seem sort of weird and forgettable. So we’ll see…

I watched twenty minutes of episode one today. Doesn't get much more "Disney" than that.

Episode 1 is the only one of the new trilogy that I enjoyed.
