Nah. I rather enjoy the speculation.
at this point i will be good either way, its been so long that the speculation has gotten fun, but i definitely wont complain if on monday there is the possibility to order the album and then get a download link with the purchase, but thats not happening
Yeah my fiancée put it in perspective for me when i showed her the countdown. I said "man i hope its album news or at least a single download". She said "what are you going to do if it isn't? You are just going to wait longer and buy it anyways".
The only part of all this that i've found strange or maybe even disappointing is not one word has really been said about any of this from the PJ camp. For all we know this Mind Your Manners business could all be a big ruse or distraction.

Does PJ's I.T. department even know how to set all of that up?
That was the sole reason for Moonlander. Practice.

No, the sole reason for Moonlander was to unload a bunch of factory-messed up stuffed animals and call it art.

It would be amusing if Mind Your Manners was a fake placeholder name, named thusly to tell off fans for aquiring information before its supposed to be out.
Amusing or super lame but still.

If it was just tour news would they milk it this much? I mean, sure, every other little piece of stupid news they've milked in the past, but most of the time if it's just tour news they'll just be like "A little bird has flown in and told us to tell you to renew your memberships." This seems bigger.

New album season is to RM as Halloween season is to a costume store.
God damnit it's about time.

If Little Boots joins the band as touring Tenori-ist, I will never doubt Pearl Jam ever again. DO THE RIGHT THING, ED.

(Because I'm the world's biggest loser and a glutton for punishment) I went back and looked at some of the old Fixer thread when that thing dropped like a bomb back in July of 2009. 4 damn years ago.
Just wanted to say that I found the air around this place back then to be fucking toxic. A lot of angry, venomous motherfuckers all up in this piece. Many of whom compared The Fixer to Unemployable.

It was bigger than that one song though. Felt like the darkest timeline of this place.
Anyway, point being that I find the air a lot easier to breathe around here these days. I don't care if you (yes, you) don't like Mind Your Manners. It's inevitable. Hell, maybe even I won't.
But at least it's been kinda fun around here lately. I'd love it if we could keep that going, even through the assured pile-on MYM will receive.
Or probably I'm just a wide-eyed naif and this is my "Let Ralph Debate."
Carry on my wayward sons.

For some reason, I think they have a real fucking surprising record ready. I don't expect Binaural, but I think it's going to musically be more in line with where I thought they would go post-Riot Act/Guacamole.
I am so scared.
what did you think they would have done that has you scared? riot act 2?
this thread expands so rapidly, damn.
No, I'm scared it won't be interesting. Every album, save for Backspacer (though I'm sure I like it more than a lot of posters) has felt very thoughtfully crafted. It's unfair to say it wasn't just because I don't care for it, but I'm an irrational superfan.
All this excitement for another forgettable album and I'm not sure if I will experience them as an active band, anymore.
