Yeah, I've read all of that so I understand SBM is very likely the song but that is all based on one dudes comment. I think everything that has Been rumored about the song is all based on that one dudes statement, whether true or false

The guy who was right about the countdown/tour dates mentioned Sirens and a uke song. Kevin Davis mentioned a review for Ukulele Songs in Spin where the guy said he'd like to hear Can't Keep and Sleeping By Myself arranged as Pearl Jam songs (or something like that). Somebody followed that by pointing out it would by funny if SBM did end up being the uke song on the record. After that, SBM started appearing on a lot of fake tracklistings, and I think at a certain point people just started accepting that SBM was the song.
And that's how I choose to remember it.

The first guy mentioned above later elaborated that it was indeed Sleeping by Myself that he heard, it hasn't been entirely guesswork.

Ok, cool. I missed that it was the same guy who specified SBM.

I enjoyed the post, sarcasm or not. In this life, you've got to get the surprises where you can.

Just watched the tour video for the 1000th time. Still don't sound like Backspacer 2 to me.

Is it just me or has Rolling Stone changed the intro about BO'B being the 6th member of the band? Maybe they had a slew of complaints.

That's true, but once MYM gets past that opening part, it has similarities to it, but then it has similarities to a lot of their faster songs

Also, I just spotted this in the BO'B interview that I didn't notice before.
I think we mixed everything in Seattle. They wanted to mix up there because they all wanted to be around. It takes a little longer when everybody is around. I say a "little longer," but It probably took 10 days. That's not a long time for some people, but that seems like a long time to me.
Where they not around for all the mixing last time? That's what this seems to imply (and also that it took longer than BO'B might've hoped...). If they weren't present during the mixing of Backspacer, and they insisted that they should be present this time, maybe it's because they were relatively unhappy with the pop sound. It's only mindless speculation but it's possible, no?

Maybe, but if you wait until the mixing stage to address that, you're already too late.

I'm not sure about that. Isn't it the mixing (not mastering) that makes everything sound like a pop album? Is there a stage before that?
