it wasn't even that far at a time...i was just doing intervals for the first 3ish miles

i went 6.35 miles in an hour and a half and my average heart rate was freakin' 165

i don't understand...does this just mean i'm really badly out of shape? because the ecg came back perfectly fine, and my resting heart rate is around 65-68
Is your watch just wrong?

Are these numbers even problems?

I just looked at a run I did a week ago and my average was 162 and I got up to 181

you are just out of shape and none of this is a concern?

I'm pretty sure you are over thinking

I want you back running asap

i doubt it's wrong because i had another tracker before the apple watch that was producing similar numbers

how steady and fast were you running? i wasn't going far, and at a very moderate pace

idk...that's all i can think too, but it hasn't gotten any better and i've been far more active these last 5 months or so than i ever have in my adult life

idk, maybe...either way it's a bit bewildering/frustrating that i can't go any farther than i can at this point

i'm gonna try again monday and see if i can push myself a little more...i also may go with my coworker friend wednesday...she used to run a lot, but fortunately for me we're at about the same level right now

I've been having trouble focusing on anything longer than a 10k but still logging 5 or 6 days a week.

I've had like 2 runs longer than 10K since the 50K and both times I took multiple days off afterward. It just feels pointless, other than for beer belly prevention.

but stop paying too much attention to your stats

get lost in it for a few years and your stats will change

I've completely lost my will to run. Just gonna try to walk 4-5 miles/day until it returns.

I watched this IG stream Goggins did with the trainer he's working with last night. He's recovering from a knee injury. The trainer guy said he did an MRI on his knees and they were trashed, that he's seen 72 year olds with better knees. Goggins was running on the treadmill and talking about what he was doing to still run like he always has but...I think the dude might be broken.

I have to hit at least 5 miles tonight. If I don't I could end up just saying fuck it for the whole week and I don't want to do that.

i actually didn’t even look at my heart rate until around mile 4...i wasn’t pushing it, but I felt okay so I was just trying to set a small interval goal and achieve it

I’m going with a coworker today so not sure what intervals we will try...she can’t go that far at one time either right now

I'm sure he'll adjust well to retirement and reduced activity levels.

Knees are giving me small trouble since I've started back up a couple of weeks ago. Twingy discomfort on the inner side of my joints, particularly the right knee. Like I need to "pop" the joints but can't. May take an extra day to rest. Probably just old, out of shape, and in need of stretching.
