Totally common, but that's not what we're talking about exactly. It's about Lauryn Hill's weird working rules, which basically say she's a queen and no one does or says anything without her explicit permission.

Apparently there's pretty hardcore rules for crew people to not look at or speak to John Mellencamp, too. The no eye contact thing is a really odd detail.

Yeah, that one always ticks me off. I respect Kevin Smith because he talks (and talks) about how everyone starts somewhere and he has a ton of respect for people trying to do something themselves. Then you hear about these people who started with nothing and now they can't even look their band in the eyes? WTF.
