Either way, she was right to be angry at the church and now she's freed from their boos.

The crowd at MSG booed her for a full two minutes and she just stood there in defiance.
They missed the point of her tearing up that photo. Most people did.
Some retort to it tho.

Sinéad O'Connor faces down a booing crowd at Madison Square Garden, and stands by her remarks about child abuse in the days after her controversial Saturday Night Live Appearance

Imagine paying money to see someone in concert just so you can boo them. She’s getting your money, you already lost.
This was at the Bob Dylan 30th anniversary concert, the same one where Vedder and McCready played Masters of War (i.e. the audience probably wasn't there to specifically see Sinead).
Well don’t I look like the fucking asshole
I wonder what song she was actually supposed to sing

I remember Joe Pesci saying something along the lines that he would've smack her in the face for tearing up that photo if he'd been hosting SNL that week.

She was a lifelong Dylan fan. And of his Christian period most of all.
She mentioned the song she was gonna play in an interview at some point I can’t remember its name.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
