yeah exact same. i hate the noise stuff. i find absolutely zero pleasure or fun in those bands/songsbune wrote:Kind of the same: I've been getting into jazz lately and the Aphex Twin / User18081971 Soundcloud tracks.
That said I can't go all-out noise. There's a limit to what I can listen to and Merzbow - to pull an example - is at the edge. Hell, even some Aphex Twin is too much for me. Though oddly Ventolin is a standout track so I don't have a clue.
The key to enjoying noise is to just let it happen to you. Like a spicy pepper or a cold shower. Don't resist it. Let the pain and discomfort consume you.bodysnatcher wrote:yeah exact same. i hate the noise stuff. i find absolutely zero pleasure or fun in those bands/songsbune wrote:Kind of the same: I've been getting into jazz lately and the Aphex Twin / User18081971 Soundcloud tracks.

i'm more into slow ambient, drone, dark jazz, minimal electronic soundscapes

I probably listen to more jazz than anything these days, but lyrics are still important to me when present.bodysnatcher wrote:i'd say these days, 70% of the music i listen to doesn't even have vocals
I know, right, it's so disruptive.BurtReynolds wrote:most of the stuff i listen to these days is instrumental only. Sometimes they sneak a vocalist in and I'm like "wtf i ain't got time for this yapping get that shit out of here"
