RIP Pearl Jam
maybe it's because it shows Watt playing the solo and Mike pouting in the corner
RIP Pearl Jam
they had a good Running
Something Special
something's Got To Give eventually

Sadly no. But new Khruangbin, Old 97's, and The Black Keys are out (among plenty others), we have plenty of new ear candy to hold us over.

Listen to each record done by Miles Davis' Second Great Quintet several times over. The 19th will be here before you know it.

had the absolutely ridiculous idea that I might try not to listen to anything else today; I probably won't stick to that but it made me feel virtuous and patient

How could they ever please the Pearl Jam audience with an album at this point?
-Play a solo reminiscent to EvenFlow | can't they come up with anything original?
-Record songs that don't sound like Ten | Why can't they sound like Ten again?
-Play something modern sounding | Aren't they like 70?
-Play something that sounds like the 90s | if they do they are just a Nostalgia act
-Make Mike's guitar sound like Yield | if he does then Mike is a boring and unevolving lead guitarist
These two new songs work for me. I love playing them loud through Apple Music on the highest quality. I love the up-front bass from Jeff in Running. I love the bridge in Dark Matter, and I also love that these are probably not in the top five best songs on the album by all accounts.
I can be as critical as anyone about Pearl Jam--especially Ed--but right now I am excited for what this might be and if it is just Gigaton 2, then that will be OK because there is some good stuff on there. I am glad the schmaltzy Brendan O'Brien | Ed combo stuff is gone and Watt wants to rock.

They could also fart in a bucket, and a bunch of people would praise them.

"Binned" made me chuckle, as it reminded me of a strange (to me, at least) "Bin it your way!" ad campaign when I was in Dublin years ago. It was all about getting people not to drop chewing gum on the ground.

Hopefully before that, wasn’t Gigaton 8 days early?
