Not usually, no, though they are clearly given out like candy for reasons that have nothing to do with health.

With respect, in no version of this universe was Donald Trump’s brain saying to him, “Gee, I think this is all sourced back to the air traffic controller biographical questionnaire from 2014…”

He’s just doing the same thing he always does when there’s a problem to solve and he doesn’t have the advantage of not being in charge: talk about the thing that makes him angry, instead of talking about the moment at hand. Sign pathetic executive orders that say “this is not my fault, no take-backs.” Wimp stuff, devoid of leadership.
Maybe? My guess is that his aides explain things to him like the situation with DEI and ATC hiring, but his mind is no longer able to hold details so instead he holds 'themes' and relates everything back to them. That is why he makes mistakes about things like BRICS countries. He gets the theme, an economic cooperative used by China to exploit global production, but cannot relate back how it actually applies to what he is talking about because details dont stick. He has a powerpoint level understanding of the world.

Pathetic leadership either way.
McParadigm wrote: Just kidding. They can't address the problem at hand, because a massive reduction of staff, funding, and services is exactly what this administration hopes to achieve at every level. And one of the many consequences of that reduction is going to be a diminished ability to recruit and maintain certain crucial work forces. It’s like a hospital firing its IT group and thinking it won’t effect services, because they’re not health care staff.

This administration can’t actually talk about a real life problem like this one, because the truth is that their ambitions will make problems like this one harder to solve. They JUST eliminated the Aviation Security Advisory Committee like a week and a half ago. They don't want to talk about any plan for improvement, because they fully intend not to attempt any improvement. Of course they'd rather talk about DEI.
It's the same problem. So long as the DEI rot is there it will never heal.
A “problem” he had four years to correct.

A “problem” he had four years to correct.
Couple things on this:

1.). I would not ascribe competency to the Trump admin

2.). You gotta think back to 2016 and what the environment was like back then. Nothing but Russia this and pee tape that, with a generous helping of #Resistance, making governing impossible. Even if they were capable, they were on their heels the whole time dealing with being the cause of America not having its first female President

3.). Society simply wasn’t ready. We were still in the grasp of Michael Brown era BLM, highly censorious media, and there was still a deeply held belief in the Obama ‘coalition of the ascendant’ was demographic destiny and they would bring all Americans along. We know better now.

Hepatitis B and covid for kids might be two good ones, but I don't follow it too closely.

But, to get back to the actual point of my post: as a Big Pharma respector who knows they would never push drugs on people for money, do you think we should be worried about them going bankrupt? Or is that the mad ravings of some bloviating harpy who gets lots of campaign cash from pharmaceuticals?

why children get Hepatitis B vax

Children are vaccinated for Hepatitis B (HepB) to protect them from a serious liver infection caused by the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). Here’s why the vaccine is important:

1. Prevents Early Childhood Infection
Babies and young children who get Hepatitis B are more likely to develop chronic HBV infection, which can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis, or liver cancer later in life.
90% of infants who contract HBV at birth or early childhood develop chronic infections, compared to only 5-10% of adults who get infected.
2. Protects Against Transmission from Mother to Baby
Hepatitis B can be transmitted from an infected mother to her baby during childbirth.
The HepB vaccine, given shortly after birth, significantly reduces the risk of transmission.
3. Reduces the Spread of Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B spreads through blood, bodily fluids, and close contact.
Vaccination protects not just the child but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in the community.
4. Long-Term Protection
The HepB vaccine provides lifelong immunity in most cases.
It is a safe and effective way to prevent a disease that has no cure but can be managed with lifelong treatment if contracted.
Hepatitis B Vaccine Schedule for Children
First dose: At birth (within 24 hours)
Second dose: 1-2 months old
Third dose: 6-18 months old
Since Hepatitis B can have no symptoms for years, vaccination ensures early protection before exposure.

but go on burt...its like candy

The Republican Party did, but Trump was not as dominant a factor then as he is now. They are far more obedient now than they were 8 years ago.

Actually you were the one moving the goalposts (or more likely just misreading what I was saying).

I'm aware of the stated reasons for why it is given.

The biggest surprise is that Trump II has differed from Trump I in that he's shown little interest in trying to compromise with establishment Republicans. The earlier attempt got him nowhere, and now they will bow or be destroyed.

I think he would have been happy to be granted membership into the swamp, but it's clear after years of fierce resistance, he wasn't going to get in (it really is a small club). Now they will have to pay.

i clearly showed there is a reason for the HepB vaccine. one that you stated along with covid are given out like candy

you arent having this argument with me because you can not name one vaccine that doesnt have a clear health related reasoning behind it

That the hep B vaccine prevents hep B - or that hep B is a terrible disease - is not mind-blowing new information for me, and the people arguing against it aren't making the argument that it's ineffective. So you're barking up the wrong tree.

If dem voters were still remotely capable of understanding second order effects, alternate uses of scarce resources, unintended consequences, etc. you might begin to understand the argument for why it might be almost completely pointless from a public health standpoint.

These are general concepts to understand and keep in mind when thinking about any social problem, not specific to vaccines.
