I really don't get the sense that Shaun King is all that popular here. I'm a bernie fan and he's an eye roll for me.

My favorite too. What an incredible recovery following a global pandemic. Incredible.
It sure is great that 2.5 million gain in May made up for the 20 million lost in April!

I'm serious, the way the data is illustrated is so absurdly misleading I kind of respect it.

You should vote for them, then. And not Trump.

i honestly think PhatJ actually hates trump as much as the rest of us. he's just so far into the gimmick now he's lost it. He's like a method actor gone mad!

Yeah Shuan King is a known huckster and fraud, but there's also a larger point--if you think criticism of Dem politicians is some kind of gotcha in favor of the GOP in the context of these largely left-wing protests you are simply not paying attention.

I don't believe that for a second, he works himself into a almost daily tizzy where he rants about having a soul cleansing laugh and owning the libs. He loves his big sweaty boy

If you're trying to find hypocrisy in the left, the last place you should be looking is these protests. Attendees booed Bill de Blasio off the stage at a freaking George Floyd memorial.

Protesters can and have been misguided before, and they could be now. Just because some people hate the president doesn’t mean everyone feels that way.
What are these protesters misguided about then? Police brutality is okay? Is the protesting not about police brutality, with an emphasis on systemic racism?
The actual peaceful protesting that has happened I 100% support. I’ve said that the entire time. I’m also not a fan of the police in general. I’ve said that 100 times. I don’t excuse violence and rioting. I don’t excuse looting. That isn’t peaceful protesting, it’s violence against innocent people and there is nothing redeeming about it. Protest peacefully all you want. You have a just cause and good reasons to do so. But don’t ruin countless other lives in the process. Not only is it harmful to everyone in the community, but it takes the righteous anger that everyone agrees is necessary and perverts it into criminal violence. The message loses all of power in the process.

I could be wrong, and have been before, but hasn't the true violent protests kind of died down? Seems to me the shit turns violent due to curfews and police attacks.

I BELIEVE
I didn’t vote for Trump until he was up against Hillary. And I would have voted for a swamp monster before voting for her. This is what you get in a two party system.

How is it NOT about political dogma for you if you say you were against Trump before he was elected and now support him knowing full well Trump is so far removed from reality he doesn’t even know what truth is? His only response for telling a lie is telling another, even bigger lie.

Sorry but you can't say you're not a fan of the police and then applaud their involvement in these protests on behalf of property. Go back a few pages, you were posting about how bail is too lenient. That's a pro-police stance.

Which, you know, fits a larger pattern of equivocation, a la "I'm not a fan of Trump but he's better than those Democrats." Did you vote for him? Do you post about how he's being mistreated by the media? Sorry bud, but you're a fan, or at least, a supporter. Politics doesn't happen in some imaginary ideal realm.

Dude, people destroying and stealing other people’s property should not be allowed in civil society. That isn’t pro police, it’s anti-anarchy and anti-violence.

I’m a supporter for sure. That doesn’t mean I condone or believe all his rhetoric. It means I think he’s better than anything the left has to offer, and there are no other viable choices.

A high school teacher Bernie bro that painted his roof "Bernie 2016" during the last election and has always been pretty active online is now apparently going full, "I will never vote for the Democrats again".

I presumed that meant he was going Green Party, but apparently no, he's going the other direction. I've heard it claimed that Bernie attracted populist types, but does anyone get a sense of what percentage of his supporters would go conservative rather than liberal in their voting patterns with him out of the race?

Bail is not an transhistorical concept, dumbdumb. Holding the accused until their trial is a specifically pro-police/pro-incarceration position.

There is a $0 bail experiment happening in California due to the 'rona. It may be difficult to determine the result on overall crime trends, what with the rioting and all.
