Agreed. It will be really interesting to see how this team responds in the second half. I really want to see them call up Kyle Schwarber. Just adore his approach at the plate. Also, Edwards should be up to help the pen this year. Really wish the Rangers wouldn't have traded him. Future closer.

It's going to be tough to send Schwarber back down if he keeps hitting. Sounds like they are hell bent on doing that though.
But where would they play him in an NL park? He's never played the OF, and he's pretty bad behind the plate.
He played some LF in the minors last year. One error in 36 games. I agree with you though. He belongs at first (not an option with the Cubs) or as a DH. You could see that when he was in college at Indiana. I could see a Cubs trade for Hamels or Papelbon and get a third team involved (AL team) and Schwarber ends up there. If not now maybe a deal coming in the off season. With their nucleus the Cubs would not be terribly snake bitten if they trade Schwarber. He would also be the key piece in a trade for a big time addition.

I used to love when the Brewers and Braves would both go with throwback Milwaukee Braves jerseys. They used to do it almost every year in Milwaukee. Spahn would come toss out the first pitch.

RIP Darryl Hamilton, always one of my all time favs. SHOULD have won a gold glove or 5!
6th best fielding percentage all time for OF! 14 errors in 13 seasons. Think he set the record for games and attempts without an error at one point in his career.

Absolutely. I mean... I get that Jeter went into the stands and hurt his face, but it was a catch players make all the time. He had to be something like ten feet away from the wall when he actually caught it, yet people treat it as if he dove into the third row. Not being able to stop in time isn't the same as going into the stands to make a catch.
