I kinda hope to start seeing stop snitching fliers, but for asking neighbors to cover their ring cameras so as to not document the activities of vigilance committees. SF had them once, they can start them up again.

We've decided that putting people in jail is the absolute worst thing you can do. I suppose it's possible people will just tolerate an increase in crime, but something else might develop to replace the vacuum left by proactive policing.

Of course he's got zoomer hair. I'm glad he's wasting his money on a suit that will go nowhere.BurtReynolds wrote:

What an inane stance to take. Who cares about his haircut? That cop is a chode of the highest order.

Does this jurisdiction not have an anti-SLAPP statute? Seems kinda SLAPP-y

We have both breathalysers and roadside drug tests here, takes all the bullshit of the "roadside impairment tests" off the table. Those are 100% just for small-dicked coppers like this cunt to go power tripping on.

Re: Cops Are The Worst
And serious question out of curiosity - what would happen if the kid just refused to talk to the cops at all? Provide license and rego, do the breath test, but otherwise say nothing and do nothing?
He's getting arrested regardless so will have a trip to the cop shop. Wouldn't he have been better to say nothing and wear whatever happens until he can lawyer up? Or is that a dumb idea?
I've drilled into my kids the idea of not speaking to police at all unless there is a very good reason to do so. "Do you know why I've pulled you over?" "Nuh.". "Where are you going in such a rush?" "No comment". yadda yadda. If they are going to ticket you they will already have made up their mind, don't do their job for them. (Having said that I appreciate the likelihood of ending up in hand cuffs at the cop station after a normal traffic stop in Australia is very very very small as compared to in the US).

The likelihood is still pretty low here to go to jail for a traffic stop. 2.4 % of traffic stops end up in an arrest. I bet the majority of these are due to warrants out for other actions, then dui.
Saying "no" to a breathalyzer is considered a criminal offense, and you can be arrested. It's better to submit and be found over/under than saying no. (at least here in Missouri)

In some states you can opt for a blood test instead of a breathalyzer, but that means getting hauled to the station or w/e and probably getting your car towed.blueviper wrote:Higgs wrote:And serious question out of curiosity - what would happen if the kid just refused to talk to the cops at all? I'm confused how the ATF showed up to a residential address without killing the household dog.BurtReynolds wrote:

Maybe we the #Defund’ers all wrong. They keep voting for this, so they must want it.
