I didn't get a growing insanity vibe from Dany watching the show. Being suspicious of Varys strikes me as entirely reasonable, and she responded well to his defense. I'll watch for it next episode, though.

Stannis ended how he had to, I think. But in general if not every arc closes it keeps the viewer on their toes and adds to that 'anyone can die/not everything ends well' threat that keeps the show compelling.

The four characters with more than 4 pov chapters in the last book were Jon Snow - 13 chapters, Tyrion Lannister - 12 chapters, Daenerys Targaryen - 10 chapters and Theon Greyjoy - 7 chapters.

He has also had a major role in the tv series from season one until now. Clearly he is very central to the whole story, not just some throwaway character that they can get rid of.

The last harpy is a good channel. Alt Shift X is another one.

I'm not a fan of the greyjoys in the books. They really annoy me for some reason.

I'd be perfectly fine with Theon's arc having no closure. Maybe he lives out his days in a dungeon or working as a shipwright somewhere--he doesn't get comeuppance and he doesn't get redemption. Some people just get neither.

Oh I'm sure he still has a major role to play. Personally I just want his arc to end. He's just a sad, pathetic character. Jon executing him would be fitting for me.

I began to really take notice when I started re-watching the series a few weeks ago.
Just waiting for the inevitable White Walker Capture Plot, so Jon can school people and end the frivolity.

Still, just imagine how boring the show would be if all the characters were heroes and good people. I was glad to see Joffrey go, but we need our villains and weak characters to help drive the show forward.

That's part of what makes the show so good. A lot of shows have gone this route lately and it's refreshing. Thinking about a lot of characters and what they've went through, a majority of them have slipped into the morally ambiguous. Which is way more realistic than the Heroes vs. Villains trope that got run into the ground over the years.
