Matt Flynn is the reincarnation of Rob Johnson.Green Habit wrote:I always like to razz the Raiders but I won't be happy if they trade for Matt Flynn, because I think that would be a very good move for them.
Stupid and nonsensical is not how I'd describe the bills (who have no qb) signing kolb for 2 years. That money is irrelevant and is only the max in what has to be an incentive-laden contract; signing kolb will not prevent them from resigning free agents or drafting a qb. Kolb is a placeholder for one or two seasons while the rookie qb develops and is better at making throws than Ryan Fitzpatrick was.MattA75 wrote:You know, as a Dolphins fan, I've seen my share of stupid nonsensical moves (some might even call the Mike Wallace contract that with the way its structured)...but at least they didn't give Kevin Kolb 2 years and 13 million bucks
there's not one QB in this class that excites me. however, i think if Geno is there at 8 they need to take him, let him sit and develop like you said. if he's not available, take a LB or WR and a QB in the second.Mecca wrote:Stupid and nonsensical is not how I'd describe the bills (who have no qb) signing kolb for 2 years. In my mind, they're going WR at 8, Barkley or Glennon in the 2nd.red calzolaio wrote:there's not one QB in this class that excites me. however, i think if Geno is there at 8 they need to take him, let him sit and develop like you said. if he's not available, take a LB or WR and a QB in the second.Mecca wrote:Stupid and nonsensical is not how I'd describe the bills (who have no qb) signing kolb for 2 years. it's the Bills though. i have no idea what they will do.
who's your QB of choice Mecca?
I guess my thought is is if you were just going to sign Kolb, why not just keep Fitzpatrick? Fitzpatrick might've sucked, but I still think he's better than KolbMecca wrote:Stupid and nonsensical is not how I'd describe the bills (who have no qb) signing kolb for 2 years. Kolb has never had a good line to play behind. he could put up some nice numbers this year.Mecca wrote:he isn't.MattA75 wrote:I guess my thought is is if you were just going to sign Kolb, why not just keep Fitzpatrick? he played satisfactory before the Bills injured him this past season.red calzolaio wrote:Kolb has never had a good line to play behind. he could put up some nice numbers this year.Mecca wrote:he isn't.MattA75 wrote:I guess my thought is is if you were just going to sign Kolb, why not just keep Fitzpatrick? You're that down on Freeman?Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:now that ive kinda got my hopes up i know it wont happen, but word going around is that Carson Palmer wants to go to the Bucs instead of Arizona for some reason, and now there is some kinda Snag in the trade so im wondering if he could be who they bring in for competition for Freeman, would be great if they think Freeman will fail if they have someone like Palmer who could be productive for a couple of years while they draft someone else.
but im sure the trade will go through with Arizona today sometime
no, i just dont want to be caught with out a decent option if he does revert to 2 years ago. and i hate to say it, but is stats were so much better this year because of Vjax, not because he now had a true #1, but because he would completely miss him but Vjax would make the catch somehow, like that 95 yard almost TD (cant remember which game) where Vjax was pretty much wide open and had to just about 2 feet up to make a fingertip catch then run almost for the score. that 95 yard completion looked great on Free's stats, but he didnt deserve credit. i really want to love him, and truely hope they draft someone in the 4th round with one of their 2 picks is there is someone with potential there (Zac Dysert or Landry Jones) but the thought of Palmer was nice for some real strong competition and to possibly push Freeman to his potential, or to step in as a place holder for a year or 2.4/5 wrote:You're that down on Freeman?Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:now that ive kinda got my hopes up i know it wont happen, but word going around is that Carson Palmer wants to go to the Bucs instead of Arizona for some reason, and now there is some kinda Snag in the trade so im wondering if he could be who they bring in for competition for Freeman, would be great if they think Freeman will fail if they have someone like Palmer who could be productive for a couple of years while they draft someone else.

and you think Carson Palmer is any more accurate?Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:no, i just dont want to be caught with out a decent option if he does revert to 2 years ago. and i hate to say it, but is stats were so much better this year because of Vjax, not because he now had a true #1, but because he would completely miss him but Vjax would make the catch somehow, like that 95 yard almost TD (cant remember which game) where Vjax was pretty much wide open and had to just about 2 feet up to make a fingertip catch then run almost for the score. that 95 yard completion looked great on Free's stats, but he didnt deserve credit. i really want to love him, and truely hope they draft someone in the 4th round with one of their 2 picks is there is someone with potential there (Zac Dysert or Landry Jones) but the thought of Palmer was nice for some real strong competition and to possibly push Freeman to his potential, or to step in as a place holder for a year or 2.4/5 wrote:You're that down on Freeman?Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:now that ive kinda got my hopes up i know it wont happen, but word going around is that Carson Palmer wants to go to the Bucs instead of Arizona for some reason, and now there is some kinda Snag in the trade so im wondering if he could be who they bring in for competition for Freeman, would be great if they think Freeman will fail if they have someone like Palmer who could be productive for a couple of years while they draft someone else.

i cant really say, the only games i religiously watch are Tampa's games, i might have see 1 or 2 games with Oakland last year, and i dont really follow all the stats to know his completion percentage, but i would say that last year Freeman had better receivers then Palmer did. now im not saying i want Palmer instead of Freeman, i just thought if he wanted to be in Tampa then he would be better competition then Dan Orlovski and someone that if they kept him in a back up roll would be able to step in if freeman took a big step back again like he did 2 years ago.MattA75 wrote:and you think Carson Palmer is any more accurate?Dr.
