That's been in their sets on-and-off since 2011.

I know. In just wondering if someone's made a mistake and this is the 'uke song' appearing on the record?

I doubt it. The original recording is already a full band arrangement, it would seem quite redundant to replicate it again.

I talked via PM to the guy who was leaking that information, he seemed pretty certain about the song (Sleeping By Myself) and the way that it sounds (country-ish.)

I like the Setting Forth into Corduroy combo. Glad they're keeping that around.

Was he the guy that also described 'sirens' or was that someone else?

Same guy (I think.)

Who knows, he may well have been stringing me along.

That seems pretty likely.

Oh, I'm not sure about that. Anyway, we'll see soon enough.

I'm pretty glad about the return of Boom. It links back to the PJ canon.

Cool, was just wondering about the likelihood of it existing. The descriptions sounded pretty cool if i remember.

He was nowhere to be seen on the last album or its advertising, was he? Several photos were taken without him.

He didn't play on Backspacer but he's always been a part of the live show. He's not a member of the band, so it makes sense that he's not involved in promotional things. Though he played on Riot Act and S/T, he wasn't in any band photos then either (from memory.)

Yeah but he's been a face of PJ even for promotional things before Backspacer, which made me think he was gone at that point. I don't really follow the touring so I didn't know he still played for them live, but in any case, it's a bit weird he just disappeared off the public radar for that album and I'm glad he's appearing in photos again. I think if he goes around with them on tour and plays a significant amount of keys (as he did on S/T) I don't see why he shouldn't be considered a member even if for some reason he's not named as one.

Other than BOB playing the keys on backspacer, his role hasn't changed since he joined the band for Riot Act. You are drunk, bro.

As I said above (you caught my edit), I can't recall any promotional band photos that feature Boom from the Riot Act and S/T periods.

He's probably shown in this recent photo as it looks like it was taken at a rehearsal - it'd be kind of awkward to ask him to shuffle out of frame. "Hey, Boom, just stand a bit to your left. A bit more. A bit more again. Great, thanks. No, no reason."

I don't get the impression he has a significant creative role in the band, he's more like a hired hand. He's not a band member as the band don't appear to consider him one, ultimately.

:haha:

Yeah I get the impression BOB is probably handier on the keys anyways. Also easier to have him play what he thinks fits the sing rather than explain it to someone else.
