It's more like God of War than a Souls-like. No physical copy, no buy. I hope they release an actual physical version. It definitely interests me.

True, open world + grand-scale boss battles does not a Souls-like make. People are forgetting the rogue-like and punishing elements.

The Valkeries and Bezerkers can go f themselves, though.

Fuckin' STUCK on the Lothric & Lorian boss fight in DS3. I wasn't using a guide early on in the game and messed up a number of NPC quests so i'm locked out of any of the available NPC summon assists so I have to solo these assholes and i just ain't that gud :gomez: .

Thinking I might have to suck it up and start a new playthrough. Was planning on NG+ anyways....

They're weak to lightning (and frost, but I never used that). Do you have any gold pine resin? Failing that... 30 Faith is a lot, but I also used the Lightning Blade miracle for a lot of my DkS3 playthru.

It's a tough fight, but you don't need summons. Keep at it.

It's funny, i've actually had a relatively easy time with the bosses up to this point and was able to walk through most fights in 1 or 2 attempts. I went into the L&L fight with a dex build using a +10 Uchigatana and buffing it with pyromancy. The damage there is pretty significant even if he isn't weak to fire dmg.

I tried using the recommended melee approach of a frost weapon + buffs for damage output on repeated hits but haven't found it any more effective than my uchi/pyro approach. Phase 1 is punishing but doable but man, phase 2 is killing me. That fucker and his ranged magic attacks are just shredding me before I even get a chance to attack. I'm barely able to get close enough to land a hit. Then that run back is brutal.

I did end up finally beating those bastards, but I had to use a cheese. Get through the first phase and be standing in the right place at the alter behind them when they spawn and you can just pick em off with arrows and they don't aggro

Finished off the rest of the game and now doing NG+ and following a guide so I don't miss out on all the NPC quests.

Damn, I didn't think they were the hardest. Did you breeze through The Nameless King? He whooped my ass more times than all of the other bosses combined.

He was tough and took me a couple of sessions but I didn't find it nearly as frustrating as L&L. The arena for Nameless King was big and I could put some distance between us when I needed time to heal and buff. Once he's off the dragon he's pretty slow and his moves are telegraphed. It was a methodical hit and run kind of fight. Same for Soul of Cinder.

Soul of Cinder I beat first try. In fact, I've never died to him lol.

I'm genuinely surprised you found L&L tougher than The Nameless King, but respect for easily dispatching the latter.

Yeah these games are funny sometimes. There's bosses I breeze through and others that just repeatedly kick my ass. It might be something to do with playstyle I guess. I think I find bosses that are super aggro and chaotic to give me the most grief.

Finished my NG+ run of DS3 a few days ago. Taking a crack at Sekiro now. I started it a couple of years ago I think but didn't make it past the first area. Not sure why I didn't stick with it, something new and flashy probably came out ::shrug::

Sekiro is so great. It's probably good you're playing it now because it is now 60 FPS.
