Absolutely.
100%. I've yet to see a big title (on either console) that can actually run a smooth 4K/60FPS. I thought 4K/60FPS was going to basically be something standard on the 'current' gen. By the spring, I'm assuming we'll finally get official word on a PS5 Pro to hit this holiday season (based on recent rumors)
I don't really see a point in a PS5 Pro right now, especially at a $600 price point (just guessing).
I don't disagree. I'd rather see Sony invest in more first party titles and dare I say some expedited development timeline of their major developers, without sacrificing game quality and employee quality of life....Sadly I don't think either are possible right now.

I've never played D or Enemy Zero, but both games are on my radar.

Of today's State of Play games, I'm most interested in Astro Bot. Nothing too exciting.

That had to of been one of the worst/uninteresting State of Plays I've seen in recent memory. The only thing I was semi looking forward to was the Silent Hill 2 remake but even that is looking like a dog shit PS3 game at best. Can't remember a time when the gaming world felt this dull from a severe lack of major, or even inspired/original, titles on the horizon....

Look at any list of the Top 25 most-played games right now. It's filled with games that are 2+ years old. The "games as a service" model has taken over.
There are still great games being released, there just seems to be fewer and fewer Triple A titles.
Astrobot is going to be great.

I did neglect to mention that I somehow glossed over the Astrobot announcement. Agree it looks great and hands down the best thing they've announced in months.

This is purely anecdotal and i'm just an older guy that likes to play single player games, but yeah things feel kinda bleak right now. The last new game that really got its hooks into me was Tears of the Kingdom over a year ago, and before that, Elden Ring. Nothing new seems to have me excited. This is what my recently played list from the past year looks like

:
Fallout 4
Elden Ring
Blooborne
Assassins Creed Mirage
Hogwarts Legacy
No Mans Sky
God of War: Ragnarok
Horizon Forbidden West
Zelda: TotK
Maybe this is some old man yells at cloud shit, but i don't think i've ever felt this disinterested in the current or upcoming state of gaming.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The only titles I've played at any real length so far this year are GoW Ragnarok and The Last of Us Part II Remastered. Games I've already completed two or three times already. Was thinking of finally trying my hand at Elden Ring given the new expansion coming out, but I think that game far exceeds my gaming skillset/capacity.
I'll yell at the clouds--it does feel like a rather bleak time for quality/AAA single player games

Oh i completely forgot about Elden Ring DLC, so that's something i guess. DLC for a 2.5 year old game. That's probably why I probably started replaying Elden Ring earlier this year.

I'll let you know it's worth it. Looks incredible (and I've had no interest in Madden for over a decade).

Bruh the Elden Ring DLC costs more than the base game lmao. I mean it's probably the best $75 ($45 for yanks after conversion) one could ever spend, but that still seems ridiculous.

It's a 30 plus hour game that took two years to develop. I'm fine with the price. It will come down eventually with Deluxe Editions by the holiday anyway.
