My Metric homies will be pleased to know that the new tune slaps with the dopeness.

There are also two b-sides up on Spotty.

Personally, it’s a four way race thus far for my favorite album so far this year: Earthling, Arcade Fire’s WE, Spoon’s Lucifer on the Sofa, and Jack White’s, with Elvis Costello’s right up there as well.

This Jack White album for me was far beyond my expectations.

This is cool. I only discovered Metric a few weeks ago when they popped up on some YouTube playlist

I haven't had the opportunity to listen to anywhere near as much new tuneage this year as I usually do but generally speaking the stuff I have checked out has been all very enjoyable indeed.

Case in point - Al Doum & The Faryds. These guys are an Italian ensemble who play some funk, some freak, some jazz and some afro beat, mix it all up and spit it out. I'm always very cautious with the term "afro beat". I should like it, but I'm so often left disappointed and even bored when I check out artists branded as such. But this new album Freaky People is a solid gold blast from start to end.

Do yourself a favour and check it out. Great tunes to have on behind you no matter what you are up to.

Here's the title track.

Didn't hate it

But I did especially like that more than half of the video is footage of a Puerto Rican Plena
