Rational hatred: At the M’s games the ushers used to have these little cards they would hold up while a hitter was in the middle of an at-bat, so people couldn’t walk down the aisles during live play. They don’t use the cards anymore and it’s the wild fucking west now, so many asshole drunk teenage bitches just coming and going and constantly standing up all the time during the game.

Bring back the cards.

I very strongly dislike and I’m very confused by how when I insert card to get gas at the pump it asks for my pin number but also says or just press enter to bypass pin. Like what’s the point of that

They pay a fee every time they process a credit transaction. You pay the fee (or there’s no fee) when you use debit. They want to encourage you to use debit.

You’re asking for trouble. Someone can easily hack that (which happens all the time at gas stations) and the money comes right out of your account. Use a credit card; you can always contest it and you still have access to your money.

Never use debit cards for purchases if you can help it.

i had to contest an attempted gas purchase on my credit card the other day. worked out well, and i already have a new card.

can't even recall the last time i used a debit card for...anything.

You absolutely can contest a fraudulent debit transaction with a police report and credit card fraud is exponentially more common than debit fraud/theft.

Of course you can contest fraudulent debit card transactions. But the point is, the money is already out of your account.

If your debit card is used in a way that is unusual for your account (from a different location, for a large amount, etc) you bank’s security will flag it and text/call you about it. Likely your card will be temporarily blocked after one transaction. The odds of temporarily losing money due to this kind of fraud are much smaller than the odds of carrying over a balance you intended to pay off and ending up paying interest on a credit card. That’s why credit card companies allow you to do it.

Team CC

I only use my debit when I rarely withdraw actual cash out of an ATM.

You can solve this conundrum by paying off your credit card.

I live 15 minutes from the Wisconsin border. Many Sconnies come here to work. They’re fat and stupid and love Trump, but whatever. I won’t begrudge anyone a job. However, the lines at our Costco gas station are ridiculous, and when so many of them are Wisconsin license plates, I actually get angry. Fuck you, Sconnies. They can buy gas here, but they should have to pay full price up the street at Speedway. This week my local Costco had Vikings and Packers chairs for sale, and I kind of want to burn the store down even though I don’t care about football at all. I’m for any hard-working immigrants planting roots here, but the Winconsinbreds need to shop among their own kind.
