Wottman sounds like the kind of PJ fan who would have been holding up a "Play Breath" banner in '98. I'll take his contributions all day long over those of BO'B
1 million percent
the problem with BO'B is not how hands-on he got, but that he had become rubbish in his ideas and musicianship
Pearl Jam were never a far Left anarchist punk band; they were a bunch of white liberal rock musicians when it was really cool to be that, and anti-capitalist when it suited them (they're rich, but they're philanthropists who still rage at the handful of multi-billionnaires hoarding the world's wealth and blaming climate change on the poor and working class; that's how I read "Dark Matter")
so nothing's changed; my admiration of Pearl Jam's political values always had a ceiling, and still does; but it could be a whole lot worse, and how they work with producers isn't even on my radar in the grand scheme, as long as I like the songs

Mostly I just read a bunch of hyperbole there... starting with "horrific mix"... like... what in the actual fuck?

Characterize it however you want, but I miss when my favorite band felt like an organically cohesive creative unit with egalitarian business principles.
You said it yourself, they've never been Fugazi, much to Ed's chagrin.
As far as production, for all the vinyl love, pretty much all of their records sound like trash
You and I could spend all weekend on here talking about why, boring the tits off of people, but, it is what it is.

i do find your mixing/mastering commentary compelling. I listen to most music with earbuds on an iphone. Through spotiify. and my hearing is getting worse so I like things loud. Im going to experiment with the atmos mix to see what I hear differently this all sounds fine to me. But i probably lack the vocabulary to really put my fingers on what constitutes a horrific mix and mastering job
this got lost before, but what are people upset about with 10c and the tour now?

you should. I stayed with RM because I like long discursive exchanges between people who are passionate and knowledgeable about the things they are talking about

Tix for the fall 23 run were about 160 each or 320/pair. I was at St Paul 1 and Chicago 1.
This go around I’ve requested Wrigley 2 and Balt. Tix were 185 each or 370/pair.
At this point the 15% increase doesn’t bother me bc, how many of these do we have left? I’ll have a 6 month old in Sept but, every run could be the last so, I’m all in!

Seems like it’s more with the large venues, but fan club seats are now in the nosebleeds.
gotcha. I have gotten shut out of fan club seats (trying exclusively in the ny market) since the lightning bolt tour. I am just happy to be in the building. I didnt check the venue maps closely

I appreciate the vote of confidence, stip, but, I'd likely have a crisis of faith every time there was a troll slap fight in-between the relevant dialogue.
I prefer to just try and white-knuckle it around here, recklessly tossing in random barbs "under my breath", so to speak, unconcerned with how many land and how many don't.
Won't score if you don't take the shots.
It's a board role for which I feel I'm particularly well-suited.

It’s kinda cute how Trag is still in 1996.
Tickets prices are like that because of inflation buddy. Every corner of the world is living this beautiful moment ( Argentina has been dealing with it for a long time )
It’s just impossible to get the numbers of 2019 or 2022. And it’s mostly because of how the promoters need their money back and need to think ahead of 6 months or more. You will also get fucked because of this, with overprices too.
As for the writing credits I’m thinking some stuff seems to be “conceptualized” as they said, during the earthlings sessions or posteriors sessions. Josh K seems to have a writing credit because that song ‘ demo happened in that moment.
At least that’s the info we have so far.

For every venue, they roll a 20-sided die and... assuming you avoid the 3-headed dragon of Asgaroth... the results determine the ten club section for that venue. Don't blame the band, that's the dungeon masters rules.

personally I kind of always saw "fan club gets priority everything" as an exclusive thing, far more than "if you phone for a ticket, you get one... fan club? what fan club?"

do punk bands offer priority seating to paid-up fan club members? or just Green Day?

Tickets for every band of equivalent stature, with a multi-generational fanbase, who has come through NY in the past few years has cost roughly the same, if not more, than this tour...It sucks, but, you either go or watch the gig on Youtube...It is what it is.
Me and the wife need double wheelchair spots, and, they aren't always the best seats, but, like stip, we're just content being in the building.
