Should he have put "less to follow"?

I've spent years on here saying things like, "it's their journey, not mine", and, look, it's certainly not my gift to tell them when to stop, they've earned the right to go out as they see fit, but, there's a growing part of me that also kinda wishes that they'd all bowed out together and called a wrap on everything.
I'm starting to feel this way too. Feels awkward to find a new drummer at this stage of their career.
lol, they'll find a drummer and tour again, and you'll both be there with bells on.

Apologies...can someone can refresh my aging memory, please?
We still make records to be listened to — not that everyone will listen to a record track one to twelve in a row or side A or Side B — but we still make 'em in case somebody does want to listen to it like that, that's how we make em…

Of course I will. Just speaking as a matter of preference.

I think you folks are all missing something vital.

Pearl Jam continued to use strings, but made them schmaltzy and did not invite April Cameron nor even Justine Foy to perform them. Future Days was an insult to Matt's wife and to strings themselves. And a decade later enough was enough.

p.s. Richard Stuverud looks like a perfect blend of Ron Perlman and Animal from the muppets in the videos I've seen of him playing with Pearl Jam. It's kind of amazing.

This might be a critical piece of their now fractured relationship, in hindsight.

Holy shit, really? That's amazing. Would love to hear it when it's ready.
He actually recorded one with us already.

Sorry to pimp my own stupid stuff but seriously just giving props to Stuverud. He's an incredible drummer and even better human.
Thanks for sharing, I liked it. The vibes kinda remind me of Sunny Day Real Estate.

I see a lot of people hinting at drama bout Matt's wife and with Jeff going way back. I'm way out of the loop, so that's what stuff all about?

They started writing/recording No Code without telling Jeff. He showed up like 4 days into the session.

Oh, right...thank you. I did know that at some better point in my life.

Look, everyone knows Jeff has been a useful idiot for years now. He's lucky they didn't change the lock.

Thanks for the Uncle Neil rip-off , ya oaf.

Matt Cameron absolutely loves the band, their creative output, their decisions, their touring schedule, his creative output with the band, and still loves playing shows, but just wants to do something different at 61 years old? Dude has been touring with bands for probably 45 years now.
Yeah, all speculation aside. This is the most likely reason. In another thread I said that he probably wants the life Kirst Novaselic has. Just some peace and quiet. Taking trips with the wife. Enjoy family time, maybe he has grandkids by now. And just do projects and record music in Seattle. Some one-off shows with whatever SG will do, or some other projects.

PS: Is SG decides to reunite with another singer and that being the main reason I would be pissed  . SG should not go the AIC or Linkin Park route.

The only person that should be singing with SG right now is Brandi Carlile. And even then, only for some benefit/tribute shows. The songs she did with them a few years back were amazing

100% disagree

think how powerful they would be if they brought in Weird Al to sing? stadium tour sell outs galore
Did the Mother Fucker pay extra to yell?

This is quite the reminder that nothing lasts forever and Pearl Jam will some day cease to exist :waah:

Yeah, that's what got to me the most. I got into PJ when I was a 14-15 year old kid. That was in 98 orso. And Matt been there ever since, thats all of my adult life. I was shocked and emotional when I heard the news. Sure, I like to speculate about what next. But I do feel sad. Ill miss that guy. What an incredible drummer he is.

And yeah. Whoever they pick next. It will be the beginning of the end. The final chapter for this band. We always knew it was coming. But now it also feels that way.

this is starting to hit me. i dont think matt cameron quiting is the end of pearl jam, but i think the final chapter is a good analogy. i guess the band has known for a while now. its just weird thinking he's not in the band anymore.
