The Top 4 aspect did add some intrigue. I don't know if I really like coming out with the rankings every week because it creates a false sense of the rankings. TCU for example fell out of the top 4 even though they did nothing wrong. For the first year I have to say the playoff was a resounding success. 33 million watched the game last night, the largest cable TV rating ever.Chris_H_2 wrote:Agreed. To me, the whole ever-changed "Top 4" aspect of it kept me more interested throughout the year (I'm a Michigan fan, and there wasn't a whole other lot to look forward to).Monkey_Driven wrote:I was speaking more to the fact that this season did not have one truly dominant team. Everyone looked beatable at times. It was a fun season.Chris_H_2 wrote:But that was essentially a completely different team playing with a quarterback that had not played before. Under the previous systems, that one loss would have knocked Ohio State out of the championship picture.Monkey_Driven wrote:The national champion lost to a 7-6 Virginia Tech team. I think that about sums up this college football season.
