Hmmm. Not the folks I know. I really like the Beatles as well. I just listen to the Stones way more.
Love the beatles. Hate the stones...well, I don't enjoy them.

If I were asked to name my top 5 Beatles/Stones songs, 4 or 5 would be Stones songs. And nothing touches Gimme Shelter.

I think I'd rank the Beatles higher than the Stones, but I listen to the Stones more. They are better hanging out / drinking beer music.

A couple of months ago I listened to "Exile" in full. I like it but I was tired of it after about 10 songs, and by the end I was ready to never hear Mick Jagger's voice again.

I've tried so many times to love the Stones but I can never advance beyond vague enjoyment.

If Kanye played guitar all of the stuff that people hate about him would just be "rock 'n' roll attitude" or some shit like that and people would celebrate it.

It's almost as if mainstream America doesn't like uppity black people but can't seem to admit it, even to themselves.

Hopefully Yeddie gets around to the story I posted in the GNR thread about Axl Rose missing a show to watch Ninja Turtles.

Save for a few choice songs, I'm with you.

I'm pretty sure we share the same #1 choice song ("Moonlight Mile") -- what are your others?

I enjoy some of the early singles quite a bit -- "Get Off Of My Cloud," "Time Is On My Side," etc. And I really do think "Exile" is a pretty good album, I just can't take 19 straight tracks of Stones.

^ Any love for" Jigsaw Puzzle"?

For me the quintessential Stones song is "Bitch", and really highlights that spunk that Mick Taylor brought to the band after Brian Jones died.

Oddly enough, a lot of folks think the Stones / Beatles had some rivalry and/or didn't like each other. Many don't even know The Stones recorded a song with John & Paul called "We Love You", or that the Stones used to lug the Beatles equipment around when they were first breaking into the business.

Here is "We Love You" in case y'all haven't heard it:
