The only time I saw them they had to restart the first song because Matt butchered the opening so badly. Felt kinda bad for Aaron since it was at a festival he co-curated.
I wanted to go to that show...NYE show right? We have a Belly Up in San Diego and it's awesome.Strat wrote:Saw them at the Belly Up in aspen and they did All The Wine twice and basically aborted it both times because Matt couldnt get the lyrics right and when he did he was laughing at them.BDB wrote:is this sloppy show and good/fine performance typical?
seeing them for first time in dec, and my expectations are starting to decline.
Theyre awesome live though.
yeah agreed, they fuck with each other about it in a jovial way. they're definitely a studio band, but catching them live is a nice event. what i like about it is that they fuck it up. i don't like perfect shows that go off too smoothly. i want my rock shows to be unpredictable.Strat wrote:Theyre so authentic and sweet about it when it happens. And they deliver some really amazing performances.

i missed out on the lottery - how was the show?Chris_H_2 wrote:so these guys are in Chicago for an Obama Foundation event on Wednesday, but they're playing a small venue in the West Loop tonight (House of Vans). Pretty stellar. It's always nice to see them in a tiny venue. Because it was a "free" show, I knew they wouldn't play a complete show. But the free beer (and posters) made up for it. Hell, I was home by 9:00.BDB wrote:i missed out on the lottery - how was the show?Chris_H_2 wrote:so these guys are in Chicago for an Obama Foundation event on Wednesday, but they're playing a small venue in the West Loop tonight (House of Vans). He’ll yes. Guest Room is one of my absolute favorites.Chris_H_2 wrote:They've been playing a lot of random, seldom played songs lately: Karen, Driver Surprise Me, Guest Room, Gospel, Brainy . . .
This bodes well for their upcoming US tour.
