I thought the 5th episode of the season - Only Child - was uneven. It had some outstanding moments, but a lot of bluster and noise as well. Probably the least interesting episode of the season; perhaps, because it lacked Lena's voice. It was, I believe, the first episode of the season that she neither wrote, co-wrote or directed. The show is just better when she's driving.Mecca wrote:I bet he loves it and thinks its just the greatest. Just my guess though.VinylGuy wrote:Hanna is such a awful, self centered human being. I love how horrible Hanna is while the others begin to seek out some self discovery and maybe redeem themselves.
Where is Joey? i want his view on this chapter.
Having said that, I thought the 6th episode - Free Snacks - was really good. Not as strong as the first two episodes of the season, but solid, and Lena didn't write or direct that one, either. Maybe it was a tone issue for me. But, yeah, I thought this last episode was really lovely.
And I sort of love Ray and Marny, mostly for the reason that Spike pointed out earlier in the thread. And it feels genuine. I've seen this happen a within my own friend circle. Also, Shosh. More Shosh. Maybe that's why ep 6 was better for me. Because Shosh is such a bright spot when they use her.
