That makes me legitimately angry.

The new market of "just put it on soundcloud" or whatever should make things like that easier to find. Stupid contracts and record company politics though make it difficult.

i really dig the guitar work by nels. overall it, it feels like it belongs on the last 2 wilco albums.

Sky Blue Sky was the last Wilco album that really resonated with me so that makes me happy.

Just listened to the single. I think it's lovely.

Its fine.

My problem with current day wilco is that all of the songs seem ...flatlined? There is no dynamic anymore. No push and pull. This is why it comes across as bored to me which isn't helped by Tweedy's whispering delivery's.

nels lead lines aren't enough to save them for me.

yes, moreso than the last 2-3 wilco/tweeedy records. its why I enjoyed it the most.

I do think it was all over Schmilco, it was just all relegated to Nels and it was very quiet and subtle. But his guitar sounds like a live wire, something wriggling around in the corner letting off intermittent flashes of voltage while the rest of the band does their straight-forward thing. But I fully recognize this isn't the same sort of thing as, say, I'm A Wheel.
I love this imagery. You’re absolutely right. Jim O’Rourke has thins going for him too. Shame they just missed each other in the studio for Wilco albums.

I know!
They have another Loose Fur album in the can and ready to go. It just needs to be mastered.
