Definitely not C. I would probably give it to B, but encourage them to work something out with A.

Give them each a turn using it. While B is not using it, she can make two new ones. Then they all have a f*cking flute

It's B's flute. The best you can do is encourage them to share, but ultimately it should be their decision.

Kid A already has a flute. How else would they know how to play.
Kid B can make another one.
Kid C can pick themselves up by their bootstraps and take the damn flute. They then either charge A to rent it or B to use it for parts.

The question is framed as though the reader is the divine adult authority and the people fighting over the flute are children, which is very telling.
The real question is why does the reader have the authority to determine how flutes are distributed anyway?

We don't. It's B's flute. Any other solution requires the theft of the flute from child B.BurtReynolds wrote:The question is framed as though the reader is the divine adult authority and the people fighting over the flute are children, which is very telling.

"The Tao that can be told is NOT the Tao."
Or translated into a Western analogy, perhaps: The Logos is that which cannot be written.
Who among western thinkers have the courage for that thought? We have been mutilated by texts for two thousand years.

My whole jam is arguing against social norms. Why do you ask if I have borderline personality disorder or worse?BurtReynolds wrote:simple schoolboy wrote:Were there any historical philosophers, political or otherwise who were good family members? I think I might be some kind of gnostic, though a somewhat forgiving kind. The demiurge is doing the best it can.

Social theories are such a waste of time. Get to work and stop worrying about things you have absolutely no control over. You're whining about society? You're trying to predict the future?! What is wrong with you? Why aren't you embarrassed? You are LAZY. Get creative.
