Ah, I thought you were talking about using software amps and then putting that through real amps again. Or does that also happen?

tragabigzanda wrote:It can, but more likely you’d take the totally dry guitar tracks that were recorded direct to your DAW then rub them through real amps
Getting educated here

None of those locations are even remotely close to NYC so that ain’t happening, but even with waiting til the 19th, will I have the time to get through all their prior stuff in anticipation?

That means we're getting an exclusive album review 9 days before the launch, right?
OK, 8 days

What if he wrote a book about the experience?

For anyone in the NY area...I see they're having one at Looney Tunes in West Babylon. That was a prime record store back in college, though I was under the impression that it closed ages ago. I'm glad to see someone pick up the baton and re-open it. Still, way too far for my non-driving ass. I can wait.

Ooohh, great idea... I would be honored. It will be my turn to sound like a babbling, incoherent idiot suffering from memory loss and saying shit like "it reminds me of Vs"

One of those in-store listens is about 40 minutes from me, but I’ll have to skip it because I’m going to see monster trucks with my five-year-old.

Shoutout to SOLAT podcast who had Kyle Meredith on this week. He described a few of the songs from Dark Matter, most notably that Wreckage is a hit and resembles 'Long Way' from Earthling, Upper Hand is a "journey", and Got to Give very "who-like". Also talks about how if he had to compare Dark Matter to past PJ albums it's a mix of Yield meets Backspacer with strong influences from The Cure.
Most of this is knowledge we already got from some of the reviews but thought I would share. Its a good listen.
