Harmless, you just got done saying how happy you are with the record, are you now sabotaging that and looking for a reason to be emo about it?
You are very bipolar towards LB.
ITs fun to watch though!

It's hi-hat, and then a snare comes in when Ed starts singing. It's bad. It wouldn't matter if it was in time.
Yeah, that's what it sounds like. It just confuses me that it's out of time so I didn't know if it was someone in the background masturbating with a tambourine in one hand or what.

Now the song is going to be like LZ's Since I've Been Loving You and that damn squeaky bass drum pedal. That's all I'll ever hear again.

I'm probably a little bipolar full-stop

The whole new-album fiasco has taught me a lot about my character and I don't like everything it's taught me.
That said, no, I'm still amazed how much I'm enjoying 10 of these songs, and in general it's got me interested again in where the band goes next; I'm glad about that because I bought a damn T-shirt, and I got scared when I started wondering if I'd wasted money on a T-shirt honouring an album I hate. But I've just got rid of the two songs I'm struggling to enjoy (I don't hate them but they frustrate me so much I'm starting to hate trying to like them), and the playlist I now have sounds amazing. However, the narrative of the album takes a beautifully depressing turn at the end now, far more than it did.
- Spoiler: show
- He dies at the end.
I might one day be able to tolerate LTRP and FD, but at the moment, I can't stop thinking about what it could've been, and for FD, I can't stop thinking that Brendan O'Brien took a big dump on it. Actually, I wouldn't mind if he played the chords, simply and in an unadorned style. But on the outro, he goes into this busy triplets style that just AAARG.

For me it's Sirens, LB (sorry Stip!), SBM and FD.
I'm usually listening to the whole record, but LTRP and Swallowed Whole are the most likely to be skipped. Two of my bottom three and I've already heard them a lot--and I'm learning new songs. I do like them both though.
Future Days continues to grow on me with each listen

it's 48 minutes long, Harmless.

I really like it too. And MYM may, a year from now, be my favorite song on the record.

Just to prove Release_me wrong, here is me singing the last chorus and outro of Infallible having only ever attempting to sing it twice before in my life, both right before recording this, with no warm up, and I'm not even a singer by trade

THEY DON'T BELONG THERE! You don't get to add sad to to S/T, just because it's a good song and wasn't on a formal album

getaway is kind of fun. still not a huge fan of these kinds of melodies and delivery, but this is better than anything on backspacer. easily.

the only reason i'm not skipping MYM is because i've resolved to listen to the album in its entirety at least once. i don't find this song the least bit interesting.

I'm not doing it myself, I'm happy with LD as it is. Regardless, I don't know if they'd fit but it would be interesting to find out if they did.
