I picked up Crash too for nostalgic purposes. I have this terrible habit of buying games and not playing them for like 4-6 months after I buy them. So I finally got around to playing Horizon seriously last night. Goddamn what a beautiful game, it really is stunning on my 4k TV. Didn't think anything would surpass UC4 in terms of graphical display, but pretty sure this has it beat and I'm only about an hour into the game. I can see what the rave is about now......

The best new AAA IP in quite awhile. Great game, can't wait for the DLC later this year.

The DLC/expansion is going to be solid. It's one of the more surprising game developments in some time. For a game company that focused on decent first person shooters to than develop a game like Horizons is pretty damn unique and awesome.

Almost done with my first playthrough of Dishonored 2. Didn't enjoy it as much as the first - I think my slightly completionist nature (I essentially don't like missing out on content, not collectibles) means that some bits have felt more like a chore.

I don't understand the "content, not collectibles" line. Do you mean side quests, optional objectives, etc.?

I've already pre-ordered DLC and I'm only 5% into the base game! $14.99 for PS+ members seems like a steal for quality of this magnitude (similar to quality/scope of RDR's Undead Nightmare expansion)

That was great. I love it when people take things way too seriously. Especially that sim stuff, though I'm not sure that was the desired intent of the video.

Pretty much everything there was comedy gold. The superserious and cocky sim pilot, the high as fuck dice rolling air traffic controllers, the bit about the F-18

I don't understand the "content, not collectibles" line. Do you mean side quests, optional objectives, etc.?

For me, a well-executed side-quest with a fun little mini-story and characters is an example of "content" - I would be annoyed if I missed out on that and I try hunt 'em down.

Whereas "There are 500 coins hidden throughout the city" is more a collectible thing - I'll keep an eye out for 'em and probably get the bulk of them, but I'm not fussed about finding them all.

The problem with Dishonored 2 is that the runes/bonecharms are very much collectibles, but they're the mechanism you have to use to buy powers and do fun stuff in the game, so I have to hunt most of them down so I can have fun with the magic stuff.

picked up Final Fantasy 12 the remaster version. Pretty good so far. Square made some very nice updates/additions to it.

It looks awesome and Ninja Theory makes solid games. The Devil May Cry series is excellent.

Man, does the Wii U Gamepad suck compared to the Switch. I really want to play Super Metroid on the new system.

It's even more pronounced after playing the Switch and using its (almost perfect) Pro Controller for these past few months. The plus and minus buttons being on top of each other on the GamePad is just madness.

I'm hoping to get a Switch later in the fall. I don't have time for it now, but I know if I buy it now I'll waste time playing it instead of focusing on what I need to for the next couple of months.
