Qui-Gon, Darth Maul (at that time), Shmi, Cordé, Dooku, Grievous, Mace Windu, nearly all the Jedi and the younglings, Padme, Jango vs Han (asked for it), Snoke, Phasma, Luke sort of...but he will return.

There were certainly more named character deaths, that's true. I'm not sure how "brave" any of those were, though. We knew the Jedi would be all but wiped out. The younglings was shocking but on the same level as Hosnian Prime, I think (and maybe less impactful). Still, I take your point. There were more "major" deaths in the PT than the OT or the ST.

Agreed. That is something I am looking forward to as well. All of Rey’s journey in TROS.

She's such an interesting character (to me). I'm more excited to see her journey play out than anything else, really.

Well perhaps that is just it. The only thing possibly interesting about Rey is where she came from and who she is (her "parents" better stay as nobodies). As she is our new "hero", i feel much less attached to her than I did with Luke Skywalker. There hasn't been something for me to become emotionally attached to her character in the same way as Luke a young farm boy pining for a bigger live and seeing his parents slaughtered.

Yeah, I'm the opposite. I don't care about her parents or her past that much. But I feel far more attached to Rey than I do anyone from the OT. But I totally get why you would feel the way you do. Makes sense.

We’ll see after TROS. For now Rey’s story feels incomplete in the ST, while Luke’s story was perfect in the OT. Which is why I want this movie to really deliver for her.

Kylo’s story only needs an ending.

I appreciate his articulate clarification of his thoughts/ feelings. It's nice what age and perspective can bring.

He’s 100% right too though. As was Kasdan wanting to make Han a sacrifice.

Would have elevated ROTJ and easily left a window open for Leia to be pregnant and Han never knowing and we could have an even better story where Ben goes off the rails for not having a father figure in his life.

Also I want this movie to be three hours.
