To build a match?
There is no logic in that, and according to all ITKs, there is no planned match between them. If one was planned, Punk makes a terrible weird promo on Hangman, then no one mentions anything in weeks?

Mox vs Punk will be the main event next weekend.
The only person who has said there is no match planned is Meltzer, who is not a credible source with regards to AEW booking. If it wasn’t a work, why did the camera crew have the Hangman sign shots queued up before Punk said it? This business is a work, man.
I've listened to four podcasts, and read various news about it, none of whom thought it was a work.

Hangman is from the area the show was at.
I dunno what to tell you, plenty of people think it was a work that I’ve seen, Punk himself said it was a work, and there are pieces of evidence like what I’ve already mentioned that indicate this is a work, including the fact that the company has been doing multiple worked shoots in the last 6 months.
Would like to see what Punk said.

Do you still think MJF is just a regular work? Not saying they won’t eventually do something about it, work it, but just a work? No way.

Surely he’s off doing something else during this period and part of this angle is to allow for that time off…

I think they will still do the Sammy Eddie match on the ppv, but we’ll see.

CM Punk don’t normally lose in Chicago, but will he be champion again so soon? If MJF is truly coming back, could he interfere in the main event at the PPV?

Spoiler: show
Sammy Guevara statement:

«As a professional you communicate things that you don’t want to be said (like other people I’ve been in programs with and have worked with Matt Hardy, Jericho and others) and I did communicate of what I didn’t want to be said in this angle and Eddie didn’t. But Eddie did not do the same and Eddie did not mention to me or the coaches or TK or anyone in AEW what he didn’t want said.

So after Tay’s and my match with Sky Blue and Dante I cut a promo on Eddie insulting Eddie and the fans as a heel. Which I know the thing everyone loves to do is hate Me & Tay so I’m the perfect person to play this ass hole character for Eddie to ultimately beat at All Out. I see what people say online about Eddie and his appearance. (Which anyone who legitimately shames Eddie for how he looks can go to hell, it’s the same people who shame me for being too small) so Sammy Guevara the character I could be the physical person playing that person that Eddie can shut up at All Out.

But Eddie did not do the professional thing and communicate to me, which if he did I never would have said it cause the last thing I want to do is hurt someone for real. So after the promo I get to the back and Eddie is flipping out yelling “YOU CANT CALL ME FAT” over and over as I’m trying to walk down the stairs in gorilla making a big scene. People get in between us, Eddie try’s to pie face me and he more life touches my face it was weird.

It was unfortunate cause this promo was on a taped show and easily could have been edited (which they ended up doing anyways).

I know this isn’t Eddie’s first time being aggressive and getting out of control backstage. I know he had to do some kind of anger management after this whole thing was very unnecessary but it Is what it is, Live & learn I guess, onto the next we go,"

Is there a Martell/Shawn Michaels type pretty boy out there right now? Kind of a lost art.

Dean Malenko

Aren't they all kinda like this these days?

Shane Helms

That superhero chick.

I honestly don’t know what they do with MJF, they’ve almost booked themselves into a corner with him.

Reports saying they are losing far heavier to the WWE than before at the moment, and not doing much progress ratingswise. The upcoming ppv will most likely be the first not to break a record, or even be close. They probably need MJF (and even Adam Cole) going forward. September is an important month for negotiations with WB.

They just broke over 1 million viewers for Dynamite for the first time in awhile. AEW is fine.

One million is not impressive, also dropping in the key demo, and increasing only in 50+, the least valuable demo. The show even had a world title match, and it was less than they had for the same show the year before.
