I hope this is a general follow the news type thing and not a Lenny getting into the van life. Owning a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van does not make you a nomad.

i watched some of the body cam footage last evening...i didn't realize the police came so close to charging her for domestic assault

the only other thing i think could be even remotely plausible is she attacked him in some form and he killed her in self defense or an overreaction...possibly in the middle of nowhere and he thought nobody would believe his story so he came back home and tried to figure out what to do next, then when the story went national he disappeared...i'm not sure of the timing of when he hired a lawyer, but obviously they and his parents know something

i dunno...this will make a great Clint Eastwood movie in 6 years
