8 out 10 cats think the chorus shits all over the song.

I'm really glad Stone acknowledged that it was just a fun song and he didn't think it was one of the better tracks even though he wrote it. Goes to show they can still tell a great track from a good track

Seriously, they're nothing special at all
Only redeeming factor is the chorus lyrics changing up, I find that an interesting song-writing technique
There's a wide gulf between "nothing special" and "horrid" though. They're solid imo.
No there isn't. Everything is amazing or cringe worthy.

all you guys. I don't find anything redeeming in these lyrics and have little interest in defending what is ultimately a subjective set of opinions.
ed has done leagues better than them.

Im not sure how McCreadys wankery can grate one that became a fan of PJ to begin with. Its always been there?
crazy how hearing him play the same scale for twenty years has become a little tired, huh?

The chorus should be half-time, I can see the drum-beat of the pre-chorus of QOTSA's "I Appear Missing" fitting perfectly over the LTRP chorus, making it sound way more legit

McCready doesn't wank like he used to

srsly, this isn't an attack on you guys personally- nor on anyone. only on the way these lyrics hit me - I don't pass judgment on anyone for liking them, or for not agreeing with me - I only pass judgment on the lyrics.

McCready doesn't wank like he used to
also, with a few notable exceptions, i've never found the gratuitous pentatonicmongering appealing. most of my favorite tracks and records are those on which mccready is effectively leashed.

For the record: Every McCready solo on the record is a low point in its respective song.
He is non existent to me on the record.

Still digging this album a lot more than I expected too. Getaway, MYM, MFS, Pendulum and Swallowed whole are all top notch songs that I think can easily hang with the pre-ST albums.
I also like Sleeping by myself quite a lot - not sure what all the fuss is about. I could see being indifferent to it, but how could anyone hate it?
I still don't like LB, FD or LTRP, but that's ok. I was fully expecting to not like any of it.

Would make it way less tiresome, swung songs get boring very quickly
