verb is spouting some 4chan-inspired rhetoric that the shooter was a trans woman, which I haven't seen anywhere besides the fringiest of sources. It's gotten to the point where sickos are posting images of other trans women and saying they're the shooter.

The shooter may well have been trans or a crossdresser, I have no idea, but I am certain that verb is a transphobic piece of garbage.

but thats the job they chose. i am sure it is most if not all cops dreams to never have to pull their gun out let alone use it. but this is why they are supposed to go through training for scenarios just like this. if your sworn duty is to serve and protect it is implied that you are going to make the right choice and do it to the best of your abilities

I don't know, but I doubt cops actually have much discretion beyond pulling people over for speeding. Fundamentally I agree and one report is saying the parents where outside with the cops for 90 minutes. I cannot even fathom what the would be like for them. Makes me sick thinking about it.

i think we are at a place where the GOP thinks it is more dangerous to teach children about tolerance and americas past but find it totally acceptable to not lift a finger about the shootings that have happened over the last 20-30 years

The same federal NICS check required in every state. You’re arguing for more gun laws while apparently having very little knowledge of the laws already in place.

If mental health is the issue and not guns, a certain party could start by not being anti-LGTBQ+ and racist, you know, things that could cause mental health issues.

i'm asking questions and trying to have a conversation to understand how anyone can think the current federal laws are enough to keep our society safe. you, however, seem to be looking to "win" and argument. if a clean criminal background check is all it takes to own a weapon designed to kill people, maybe we should have stricter laws considering this doesn't seem to prevent killers from obtaining weapons? or is any attempt to correct the problem a failure b/c its not going to completely stop gun violence?
